He Got the JOB!!!
Josh got the job he was wanting. Hopefully things will continue looking up for him.
He deserves it, he's a good kid who has gone through hell.

Josh getting the job is so wonderful. I feel like I am getting flashbacks from hearing the news. Your blog sounds so much like my own experience. As you read this comment, please be aware that most of it is from many years ago.
My son Chris quit school at 16 (he went back later and got his GED). I know quitting school was a major reason for the low level jobs he was getting (plus we live in a rural area). It was not surprising that (along with his usual lack of motivation) he kept putting off looking for work between the times when he temporarily did have a job. Using drugs didn't help any either.
It is one thing to not get a job because you're not qualified, but entirely another when you don't even look. We told him when he quit school that if he wasn't going to school then he'd have to get a job. Time went by and it just wasn't happening. Those years were full of my wishing that he would get out of the house so I could have my life back. The majority of our family problems were related to him and his ups and mostly downs. MUCH later on he moved to Phoenix (he wanted to live somewhere hot) and found more opportunity there.
We live across the country in PA and I miss him so much. Now I know the meaning of "watch what you wish for, you just might get it". We still helped out financially for a while after he was in AZ, but the move turned out to be a blessing. Since he lived so far away Chris had to learn to become independent.
He always loved working with computers and over the years he had taught himself all about them. He found a job managing the computer system for a small company. I was never so thrilled in my life. What made it even better was that he beat out a college graduate with a degree in computer science for the job. Now I could turn around and laugh at the teachers and others that said he would never get anywhere in life. I am ashamed to admit that there were times when I thought the same thing myself.
I hope this story gives you hope for Josh. I certainly never believed it could happen for Chris even though I prayed it would. Of course, I've skipped over many of the bad times we had. Sometimes you just have to keep on going because there's nothing else you can do. It meant so much to me when, as an adult, he said to me, "Ma, I know now that I was a real pain in the ass but I really appreciate all you've done for me". Hang in there with Josh, it took me many years to hear those words.

Cee - I appreciate your comments and your story does give me hope. It sounds like you went thru hell over the years though.
Sounds to me like you need to start a blog!
